Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hard courts
A revitalized the Russian player secured his initial trophy for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.
The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a difficult period, achieving just one match at the big events and suffering a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in especial - caused him falling of the top ten and finally separating with long-time mentor Gilles Cervara.
Currently training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily advanced in the past month - culminating in a tightly fought competitive victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This marks the player's initial title since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court since spring of 2023.
Victory also signifies he has secured twenty-one titles at twenty-one distinct tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a event with my children together, so to win a championship is particularly special," commented tennis professional Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six championship matches, including in the German tournament in the past months.
His defensive strategy and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had prompted commentators to doubt if his skill to play at the elite level was concluded.
Yet the player has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and compete assertively, supported by an enhanced serve.
Medvedev fought back from a deficit in the first set against the tricky Frenchman, taking 4 of the final five points to go ahead.
The pair exchanged break points in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first tour title, took control to push for a decider.
He saved four initial opportunities in a competitive final set before the champion secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Suitably, the winner clinched the win with a point at the net, with his opponent unable to handle a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
